The fine arts are highly valued and vitally important in Roswell. There are an impressive number or Roswell based organizations dedicated to supporting the arts in and around town. From the Roswell Arts Fund to the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance, the Visual Arts Center, the Cultural Arts Center and many more, the citizens of Roswell are passionate about the arts and eager to share this passion.

In 2013, The City of Roswell hired The Cultural Planning Group  to conduct a Community Wide Culture and Arts Assessment and Plan. The primary focus of this plan is to build upon and leverage the strengths, assets, advantages and accomplishments already established in this culturally-diverse region, and to fully integrate arts and culture planning into the current and future economic and community development of Roswell.

Children who grow up in Roswell are exposed to the fine arts from a very early age. Two and three year olds may take beginners dance classes at one of the city’s rec centers to promote creativity, coordination and confidence. They may broaden their imaginations in a My 1st Art Class that teaches them about paint, modeling materials, fabric and other visual art materials. Older children may opt for ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance, hip hop, theater, photography, drawing, sculpting, voice or even instrument lessons to encourage creative expression and discipline, all while having fun and making new friends.

The Roswell Rec, at its various locations, also offers a wide variety of visual art classes for adults. From Introduction to Photography to advanced Life Drawing, there is truly something for everyone. Anyone who feels a strong pull toward the artistic community are encouraged to take part in one or more of the organizations dedicated to making Roswell a hub for creativity.

Directly involved or not, all Roswell citizens have the invaluable opportunity to visit first-class art galleries, explore local art fairs and attend exceptional performances and concerts at the Cultural Arts Center. The Georgia Ensemble Theater, which makes its home at the Cultural Arts Center in Downtown Roswell, provides the city with a wealth of entertainment all year round.

The music scene has blossomed in Roswell and continues to attract amazing talent from all over the country. From Ragamuffin Music Hall hosting intimate private concerts to the Cultural Arts Center hosting large, formal events with musicals and orchestras, there are opportunities for any music lover to take advantage of. Increasingly, local bands are taking advantage of the numerous outdoor venues, such as the pavilion in the Roswell Square during festivals, the outdoor theater at the Chattahoochee Nature Center and Canton Street during Alive After 5. One of the most popular series featuring a variety of music, is Roswell’s Riverside Sounds Concert Series in the Summer, located right on the Chattahoochee River.

Whatever the medium, Roswell has a long standing tradition of fine art and entertainment.
