Home 2 Suites by Hilton and Springhill Suites by Marriott will both be building properties off of Westside Parkway, within a mile of one another.
Home 2 Suites will cover 1.9 acres at 10990 Westside Parkway, on the corner of Mansell Road. The hotel will stand five floors tall with a total of 106 rooms and 107 parking spaces. The conditional use request for five stories was approved by Roswell City Council on June 12.
Less than a mile away, Springhill Suites will occupy the corner of Westside Parkway and Old Roswell Road. The conditional use request for the four-story complex was approved by Roswell City Council on July 10. This hotel will occupy 3.13 acres and include 90 rooms, 90 parking spots and 12 bicycle spaces. A fitness center, meeting room and indoor pool will also be included.
Both hotel announcements come only a few months after we released the key findings from our recent hotel feasibility study, which indicated a strong demand for business-friendly hotel options in Roswell. The study was conducted by Atlanta-based hospitality research firm The Highland Group and was funded through a partnership with Georgia Power and Visit Roswell GA. Read more about the study here.
The data from the study was a significant part of solidifying franchise agreements with both hotel groups.
Roswell Inc has been involved with the property owners for both projects since the first stages of the planning process, and we will continue to work as a liaison between the city, developers, hotel groups and the franchisees until the hotel grand openings. We are also grateful to Roswell’s transportation and community development staff for their help in making these projects possible.
Boutique Hotel Update
These two announcements are happening alongside the final approval needed by Roswell City Council for the boutique hotel project on the corner of Magnolia Street and Mimosa Boulevard, in the heart of the Historic District. This approval took place on July 10.
Many of you are already familiar with this project, which will include a 120-room hotel as well as a mixed-use building on 2.32 acres comprising a public garden, event space and chef-driven restaurant. Learn more about the project here.
This brings the total number of new hotels coming to Roswell to three, which is great news for our city!
