Opportunity Zone

Roswell is home to the largest Opportunity Zone in Georgia, which is a state job tax credit incentive program designed to stimulate growth, encourage redevelopment in communities, and create jobs for companies. This program is available to all businesses located within the Opportunity Zone in Roswell—whether you are a new business or have been around for decades.

How it Works

To qualify, a company must create at least two net new full-time jobs in one tax year and be located within the boundary of the Opportunity Zone.

The company is then eligible for the maximum state job tax credit of $3,500 per net new employee for five years starting the year of the hire, and the credit is used against 100% of Georgia income tax liability and withholding tax.

There is no limit on the number or type of new jobs created.

Companies must apply for the tax credit by May 3, 2020; however, the five-year credit can extend past 2020.

Grow Your Workforce

More than 190 Roswell businesses have used this state incentive to grow their workforces, including divisions of GM, Kimberly-Clark, UPS, Delta Dental, Yardi, Nolan Transportation Group, EndoChoice, Deliv, and Kloeckner Metals.
