The Southern Post mixed-use development in Roswell’s historic district has officially broken ground! Once complete, this project is going to add 40,000 square feet of retail, 90,000 square feet of office, and high-end residential living options to our city—all while increasing walkability and connectivity in our community.

We are grateful to SJ Collins, Armada Hoffler, Roswell Downtown Development Authority, and City of Roswell for partnering together on this exciting project. This development is truly going to serve as a catalyst for our historic district and a game changer for our community.

“We are extremely excited to kick off the groundbreaking for Southern Post,” said Tim Hodges, vice president of construction at Armada Hoffler Construction. “Each project we build is an opportunity to tell a story. Our vision for this project is to become Roswell’s new go-to destination for people to work, live, eat and play.”

“We have the opportunity today to do something that is very important to our city and that is to redevelop and create new jobs for the city of Roswell,” said Steve Stroud, executive director of Roswell Inc. “Armada Hoffler Properties and S.J. Collins are bringing new jobs to our city, and we thank them for their investment.”

“I have lived in this neighborhood for more than 30 years, and I have a history of shopping here,” said Mayor Lori Henry. “It was a wonderful convenience for us, but it changed over the years. This is a transformational project in downtown Roswell, and it is exciting. This is one of those situations where we all came together to make things happen, and I‘d like to thank everyone involved.”

“It’s a privilege and an honor for us to be able to work on this project, and it’s going to be very special,” said Steve Collins, partner at S.J. Collins. “We look forward to putting up some beautiful buildings that residents will appreciate, and there are some very exciting things to come. What the city has already done here is amazing, and we are going to enhance that.”

“We’re searching specifically for local and regional restaurants with outdoor spaces and patios for guests to enjoy and take advantage of the incredible atmosphere here,” said Justin Latone, senior vice president of leasing at S.J. Collins. “Expect to see things unique to Roswell when it comes to the retail and restaurant options that are either new to, or will complement, the market. The high-energy, loft-style office component is also certainly something that doesn’t exist in this downtown area, and we think it is going to be extremely well received by the community and mix well with the retail, dining and residential components here.”
