Roswell business is booming! From hotel announcements and large recruitment projects to the redevelopment of shopping centers and numerous small business success stories, Roswell has experienced high economic growth in recent years with no signs of it slowing down.

In 2018, Roswell experienced total capital investment of $167 million.

Hotel Projects

With a projected increase in demand of 4.2% for business class hotels in Roswell per year through 2023, the city responded by facilitating the development of multiple new hotel projects.

Since 2017, four hotel projects—one boutique and three business class— have been announced for Roswell. Home 2 Suites by Hilton, Springhill Suites by Marriott, and Element by Westin will fulfill the business class demand and will be located near much of the city’s Class A office space.

A boutique hotel and mixed-use development in Roswell’s historic district also broke ground in late 2019. The development is a $110+ million investment and will include a 125-room hotel, retail, urban market, outdoor community green space, restaurants, event and office space.

Southern Post

The mixed-use Southern Post development in the heart of the city’s historic district will include 70,000 square feet of office space, 50,000 square feet of retail space, 128 apartments, a parking deck, fitness facilities and a grocery store. This highly anticipated project will serve as a catalyst for additional redevelopment along SR 9/Alpharetta Highway.

Roswell Village Shopping Center

Roswell Village Shopping Center was recently redeveloped by the Sterling Organization, bringing in a variety of nationally known tenants, including Crunch Fitness, Marshalls, Famous Footwear, Ross Dress for Less, and Starbucks.

Sun Valley Mixed Use Development

A 164,000-square-foot mixed-use development at the corner of Alpharetta Highway and Sun Valley Drive will include a grocery store, office, retail, restaurant space and hundreds of apartment units. The walkable, accessible development will provide greater connectivity within the city, with eight-foot wide sidewalks that run adjacent to recently approved walking and biking paths of the Sun Valley Drive Extension.

This development, projected to create 400 new jobs, is also expected to spur additional economic investment along the centrally-located Highway 9 corridor.
